Analysis of Neighborhood Decline in Urban Areas
After 20 years of urban renewal and large flows of housing in recent years, it appears that the resources expended by federal housing efforts have been largely unsuccessful in dealing with high rates of deterioration and abandonment of housing in the central city. The processes of decay, neighborhood evolution, and decline which are noted in the report seem to have been altered minimally by federal efforts. Implications are discussed.
