The report presents the basic findings of the Housing Discrimination Study, a national fair housing audit study sponsored by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office of Policy Development and Research and conducted by the Urban Institute and the Metropolitan Studies Program at Syracuse University. The paper presents the basic results related to two objectives: Provide a current national estimate of the level of discrimination against blacks in urban areas; Provide, for the first time, a comparable national estimate of the level of discrimination against Hispanics.
