The purpose of this report is to present Swedish land policy in its practical context with the emphasis on analysis of the structure of that policy and its effects at local government level. As the primary aim of the land policy has been to make it easier for the central and local governments to achieve the goals set up for housing policy, the emphasis has been placed on the importance of land policy in the context of planning and construction of housing.
