The purpose of the report is to fill the information void in the area of what the General Statutes have to say about housing in North Carolina. The monograph is organized into four substantive sections, with the two final sections providing a detailed index and supplemental references. The central section deals with specific aspects of development such as planning, subdivision, zoning and building code regulations. Part II concentrates on existing State Authority in the area of subsidized housing construction, redevelopment and relocation. The third section deals with legislation governing private actions in the housing area including matters of landlord tenant law, the sale of building lots and setting up cooperative and nonprofit corporation. The final section contains an index of North Carolina Statutes relating to the building industry. (Author)
