Model Program to Assist Small and Midsized Communities with Downtown Development
A project undertaken to refurbish the downtown section of Marietta, Georgia is described. Technical business expertise was provided to Marietta's merchants and merchant's association to enable them to better compete with suburban shopping centers outside of the city limits. Task forces were created to give the association improved organizational capacity and to deal with problems related to parking, membership, and facade renovation.
