Acque Correnti in Ambiente Urbano: il Parco Regionale dell-Appia Antica di Roma. (Freshwaters in Urban Areas: The Regioanl park of Appia Antica in Rome (Italy).)
The following abstract is in English. The document is in Italian. Regional Park of Appia Antica is a protected area placed inside the city of Rome and for this reason is perfect to test the reactions of a green area to a massive anthropic impact. In this work the ecology of freshwaters of the park (Almone river and other little brooks) are studied, analysing biological, chemical, hydrological parameters and ecosystem indicators. In the first year (1998-1999) of work, bad conditions for almost all the considered freshwaters were found with the only exception of Marrana della Caffarella, which showed an ecosystem in better conditions even if very fragile. Similar results were found in the second year (2000-2001) of work in which also new areas recently added to the park were studied.
