Annual Housing Survey: 1979. Housing Characteristics for Selected Metropolitan Areas: Chicago, Ill., Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area
This report on the Chicago area is one of 15 issues presenting statistics on housing and household characteristics from the 1979 Annual Housing survey conducted in 15 selected standard metropolitan statistical areas (SMSA). It is based on information from a sample of housing units that was collected by personal interview from April 1979 through March 1980. In three of the larger SMSA's, including Chicago, the sample consisted of approximately 15,000 housing units. The report consists of five parts: part A presents statistics on general housing characteristics, part B on indicators of housing and neighborhood quality, and part C on financial characteristics cross - classified by indicators of housing and neighborhood quality. Data on housing units for all races and for units with black household head and household head of Spanish origin are given. The bulk of the document is in tabular form. Maps are included.
