Effect of Calcium Nitrite on the Properties of Concrete Used in Bridge Decks
The objective of the study was to evaluate concretes containing calcium nitrite under field conditions. Their resistance to deterioration resulting from freezing and thawing was determined, and their effectiveness in preventing corrosion was evaluated and compared to that of epoxy-coated reinforcing bars. The study was limited to testing concretes placed on a single bridge.
