A Study of the Economic Impact of Interstate Highway 45 on Conroe, Texas
In October, 1957, the U. S. Bureau of Public Roads and the Texas Highway Department authorized the Texas Transportation Institute to conduct studies of the economic impact of the Interstate Highway System on local areas in Texas. The purpose of the studies was to measure the effects that construction of a segment of the Interstate Highway System has on local areas and communities by analyzing the changes in land value, land use, business activity, travel patterns, and other general community developments.
