Seismic Input and Soil Structure Interaction
The purpose of the research was an assessment of the adequacy of some engineering assumptions made in the definition of seismic design motion and methods used for the analysis of seismic soil-structure interaction of nuclear power plants. The primary goal was to determine the range of applicability of the acceptance criteria presented in section 3.7 of the USNRC Standard Review Plan and to point out the specific instance where the criteria require modification or analysis on a site-specific basis.
