Small Boat Harbor on the South Shore of Lake Ontario at Oak Orchard Harbor, New York
The project consists of the construction of a small-boat harbor entrance channel at Oak Archard, Orleans County, New York. The authorized project would provide for the harbor on the south shore of Lake Ontario at the mouth of Oak Orchard Creek by the construction of parallel jetties in the Lake, an offshore detached breakwater, and dredging of an entrance channel. It also provides for installation of recreational fishing facilities on the jetties. There would be temporary loss of some 10 acres of bottom biota and increased turbidity during construction.
