The report contains the proceedings of a conference on systems building held Feb. 24-26, 1972, which was devoted to advancing the state-of-the-art of systems building and to promote the concept of total building design. A case study of the planning, design, and construction of the Standard Oil of Indiana building in Chicago was the principle topic during the first half of the meeting. In the latter half details of project management, building codes, performance criteria, and future opportunities were discussed with respect to systems building. (Author)
