Cultural Resources Survey of a Borrow Area for the West Atchafalaya Basin Protection Levee Item W-123, St. Mary Parish, Louisiana

This report presents the results of cultural resources investigations of a 40-acre borrow area for the West Atchafalaya Basin Protection Levee Item W- 123 in Patterson, St. Mary Parish, Louisiana. Fieldwork consisted of a program of shovel testing within the proposed borrow area and the adjoining access road. In addition to the shovel tests, two backhoe trenches were excavated in the northeast corner of the borrow area. No sites were observed during survey. No standing structures were present in the borrow area. No further work is recommended.
