Wrought Stainless Steel Fasteners for Civil Works Applications
This report presents the results of an investigation conducted by the U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL) into the mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and cost of eight wrought stainless steels with the potential for use in Civil Works applications. It was concluded that no single stainless steel can be selected for optimum performance under all conditions. Thus, a Fastener Selection Guide was developed to help the design engineer select wrought stainless steels for fasteners and other components in Civil Works structures. (Author)
