Strength Evaluation of Round Timber Piles
Strength properties in compression parallel to grain and bending were determined for Douglas-fir, southern pine, and red oak timber piles. The effect of kiln drying of southern pine piles on crushing strength was investigated. The results should be useful in developing timber pile specifications. (Author)
