Regional Future Land Use Plan, North Georgia Area
The Future Land Use Plan is aimed at formulating a unified concept that will maximize resource development and minimize public expenditures for public facilities. Factors considered in developing the plan were: land use patterns, population and economic analyses, and regional development factors and influences. The latter factor covers natural man-made limitations, public investment policies, transportation, housing, and land development controls. Regional goals and development concepts have provided a background for the proposed Furture Land Use Plan of the Region. The text presents the major features and plan policies regarding the Plan. Plan implementation covers the methods by which to carry out the Plan with emphasis on cooperation with neighboring area planning and development commissions to atttain the best results possible in the northern section of the state of Georgia.
