Communications on Hydraulic and Geotechnical Engineering. Energy Dissipation in Breaking Solitary and Periodic Waves
A comparison has been given of calculated and measured wave height decay, for solitary waves on a plane, 1:100 slope, and for periodic waves on a horizontal bottom and on plane slopes of widely varying inclination. For all these cases a fair overall agreement is obtained for B = 2, in which B is the coefficent in the estimate of the dissipation rate.
