Wegeheer (Managing Pavements)
This document describes the CROW system for managing pavements, which is the most widely used system in the Netherlands for road authorities at the provincial and municipal level. Currently, over four hundred users of the system apply it in their daily practice of the maintenance management of the road infrastructure. This document is split in three parts. Part A presents a concise, step-by-step description of the system, from the collection and storage of input data to the presentation of the results of the maintenance planning. Part B provides for a comprehensive description of the technical background of the various steps of the process. Part C, finally, is the policy oriented part of this document, describing the position of pavement management in the overall process of managing public assets.
