St. Charles County, as a part of the growing metropolitan St. Louis region, is changing from a rural oriented to an urban county. Urbanization patterns are being shaped by many factors; a predominant factor being the highway transportation system into the metropolitan core. A primary purpose of this land use analysis is to determine relationships between land usage, and existing and proposed transportation facilities in St. Charles County. The analysis and projections will become a part of the basis for determining future transportation needs for the entire St. Louis metropolitan area.
