Results of Creep Tests on Concrete Cylinders for the Cable-Stayed Bridge at Owensboro, Kentucky
The Kentucky Transportation Center conducted creep tests on the concrete from the new cable stayed bridged over the Ohio River at Owensboro. The creep testing requires the compressive strength and modulus of elasticity which were determined according to the ASTM C-39 (Compressive strength of cylindrical concrete specimens) and ASTM C-49 (Static modulus of elasticity and Poisson's ratio of concrete in compression), respectively. Different sets of cylinders were loaded at three days, 30 days, and 90 days after the cylinders were made.
