Paleoliquefaction Studies in the South Carolina Coastal Plain

This report presents the result of new paleoliquefaction studies and a reanalysis of results of paleoliquefaction investigations in the South Carolina Plain over the past fifteen years. During this study a new paleoliquefaction investigations in the South Carolina Coastal Plain over the past fifteen years. During this study a new paleoliquefaction site was discovered at Gapway, new sand blows excavated and studied two previously identified sites at Sampit and Four Hole Swamp, a reconnaissance survey carried out at Live Oak Site, and a new shallow trench excavated at Charleston Air Force Base. Organic samples were collected from these sites and their radiocarbon date were obtained.
