A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
A 1978 research report on health facility building costs which is designed to assist the health care professional responsible for new hospital construction in preparing and justifying budget estimates is presented. Contract costs obtained from project architect-engineers follow the uniform procedures described in a publication of the American Institute of Architects, Document No. D101. Projects are organized in order of increasing gross square foot area, and building cost adjustment indexes are supplied for 183 cities. The data include a space planning guide for size estimates, a list of average building costs for various building types to use in setting rough estimates, listings of cost estimates after the bid has been awarded (for additions, animal hospitals, clinics, health centers, hospitals, medical office buildings, miscellaneous medical buildings, and nursing homes), case histories of actual construction costs (for clinics, health care facilities, health centers, medical centers, nursing homes, and miscellaneous facilities), adjustment indexes for cost rise rates for various time periods and locations, city indexes and codes, a list of abbreviations, and a worksheet.
