A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Abercrombie Lecturers represent an interesting cross-section of the best academics and practitioners in planning and related subjects. All of the Abercrombie Lectures have been published in Town Planning Review. The Fourteenth Abercrombie Lecture was presented in March 2015 by Professor Michael Parkinson CBE, Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor and Executive Director of the Heseltine Institute at the University of Liverpool. Michael's distinguished academic career has been divided between his alma mater, the University of Liverpool, and Liverpool John Moores University where he spent a most successful period, lasting more than twenty years, founding and developing the European Institute for Urban Affairs. He took up his present position after rejoining the University of Liverpool in 2014.
