Über große Dächer – „Die fünfte Ansicht
Das Oskar von Miller Forum in München zeigte von Ende Oktober bis Ende November 2016 in Kooperation mit dem M:AI Museum für Architektur und Ingenieurkunst NRW eine Ausstellung über Gewölbe, Schalen, Kuppeln und Dächer – und über ihre Inge nieure! Viel zu kurz blitzte für ein breites Publikum im Foyer des Forums der Bayerischen Bauwirtschaft auf, was vielleicht zum Grundwissen kultivierter Ingenieure zählt: In Texten, Plänen, Fotos, Modellen und Videos präsentierten die Kuratoren mehr als 30 ikonographische Dachtragwerke aus zwei Jahrtausenden – Meilensteine der Ingenieurbaukunst vom Pantheon in Rom bis zum Metropol Parasol in Sevilla, von den Münchner Olympia dächern bis zur Berliner Reichstagskuppel, vom Londoner Kristallpalast über Sydneys Opernhaus bis zum New Bangkok International Airport. About large roofs – ”The Fifth View“. The Oskar von Miller Forum in Munich in cooperation with M: AI Museum für Architektur und Ingenieurkunst NRW presented an exhibition from end of October to end of November 2016 on vaults, shells, domes and roofs – and about their engineers! In the foyer of the forum of the Bavarian construction industry a wide public could see, what should be basic knowledge of cultivated engineers: in texts, plans, photos, models and videos, the curators presented more than 30 iconographic roof structures from two millennia – milestones of civil engineering culture: form Pantheon in Rome to Metropol Parasol in Seville, from the Munich Olympic Roofs to the Berlin Reichstag dome, from Crystal Palace in London to Sydney's Opera House and New Bangkok International Airport.
