Hummingbird awards mining contract for Yanfolila project
Hummingbird Resources has awarded the mining contract for its Yanfolila open-pit gold project in western Mali to African Mining Services (AMS), a subsidiary of ASX-listed Ausdrill Ltd. The contract is for an initial three-year period, with an option for Hummingbird to extend the contract by another year. The total value of the contract is expected to be approximately $112 million over the first three years. Mining operations at Yanfolila will be based on conventional drill-and-blast, load-and-haul mining methods, initially from two deposits.
