Mining Tier 4 Final Engines to Be Certified
Cummins unveiled ultra-clean mining engines designed to meet European Union Stage V emissions regulations. The engines will be certified to US Environmental Protection Agency/Air Resources Board Tier 4 Final standards. The integration of Cummins' latest after treatment system, the Single Module, with leading combustion and air-handling technology, allows the 2019 F3.8, 34.5, 36.7 and L9 engines to be exhaust gas recirculation-free. The Single Module system combines a diesel particulate filter, selective catalytic reduction and urea-dosing technologies in one unit, providing up to a 50% reduction in envelope size and a 30% reduction in weight compared with earlier products.
