    Engineers recommend standardized cost code

    Independent Project Analysis Inc announced AACE International endorsement of its Mining and Mineral Processing Uniform-Cost Coding Structure. The latter stated at an annual meeting that the cost coding structure is recommended for use by technical professionals supporting mining industry companies and contractors. The cost coding structure will better enable the development of mining-specific cost metrics to be used in evaluating and benchmarking projects at different levels, AACE reported. The lack of a mining and minerals industry cost coding structure has been a constant roadblock in driving capital spending improvements.
