Pressure meter for testing soft soils
Conclusions 1. The proposed method of installing the pressure meter in the borehole has the following advantages: a) absence of displacements of the working sheath of the pressure meter relative to the soil; b) insensitivity to local disturbances of the soil around the borehole; c) possibility of using an ordinary pneumatic or hydraulic pressure-meter model meeting the requirements of the All-Union State Standard (GOST) 20276-74 for testing soft soils. 2. The addition of devices for direct measurement of the horizontal pressure to the pressure meter removes uncertainty in assigning $ σ_{o} $, which has a strong influence on the results of processing pressure-meter tests, and considerably broadens the possibilities of the pressure-meter method.
