Forced vibrations of an inhomogeneous planar system with passive vibrational insulation
Abstract The finite-element method has been used to examine vibrations caused by the movements of shallow subway trains. The viscoelastic behavior of the soil is incorporated. Various vibrational protection systems have been proposed in the form of obstacles between the vibration source and the protected object, and a study is made of their performance.
