Determination of Deformation and Strength Properties of Layered Rock by Asymptotic Averaging
Abstract A correct method is proposed for conversion from deformation and strength properties of rock segments to the deformation and strength properties of the mass as a whole. The potential of the method is illustrated in an application to a layered rock. The method can also be expanded to other geomaterials containing regular and quasi-regular inclusions.
