Influence of seismic manifestations on the stability of buildings in the cryolithozone
Abstract Causes of the deformation of an auxiliary building in the city of Susuman in the Magadan Oblast are indicated on the basis of analysis of results of geocryologic-engineering investigations. The permafrost in the bed of the foundation was used in accordance with the principle whereby thawing is permitted during the service life. After 30 years of normal occupancy, dangerous deformations have developed as a result of seismic effects in the cryolithozone.
