On the reliability index of soil
Abstract Reliability indices are analyzed for soils in domestic and European standards governing geotechnical design. Principal differences in the approach to assignment of standard and computed indicators of soil strength, which result in a different assessment of bearing capacity of soil beds, are noted. It is proposed that a single procedure be adopted for determination of standard and computed indicators for construction materials and soils.
