Bearing capacity of compression-bent piles in permafrost
The deformation of a pile fashioned from a metallic tube, the lower end of which is rigidly fixed in permafrost, and the upper end rigidly or hinge-connected to the raft of a building is examined. Geometric nonlinearity of the deformation is considered in writing the differential relationship between internal force factors in the cross section of the pile. A solution permitting determination of the bearing capacity of the pile with a given stiffness, stability, and strength reserve is obtained. Analysis of variable-section piles is possible.
