Stress Distribution in the Bed of an Inclined Absolutely Rigid Plate with Consideration of Friction Along the “Plate-Soil” Contact
The problem of the stress distribution within the elastic bed of an inclined absolutely rigid plate subject to the action of a normal uniformly distributed load is examined for various coefficients of friction along its lower surface. The stress components of the principal moment of active forces holding the plate in a given position are determined. It is demonstrated that the stress distribution in the bed of the plate depends on the coefficient of lateral pressure of the soil and the friction along the “soil-plate” contact.
