Comparative study on the performance of corrugated GFRP laminates on normal and pre-cracked flexural concrete members
Abstract Glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP) composite is a readily available material in the market and commonly used for retrofitting works in Civil Engineering and body construction in automobile engineering. The advantage of using GFRP composite is that it can be used in shape according to the site conditions. In the present study GFRP composites were used for the preparation of corrugated laminates and used for strengthening normal and pre-cracked reinforced concrete beams. This research paper presents a comparative study on the performance of corrugated GFRP laminates on normal and pre-cracked flexural members. Experimental study was conducted for normal and pre-cracked beams strengthened with GFRP corrugated laminates and the results revealed that the normal beam strengthened with corrugated laminates performed well when compared to pre-cracked strengthened beam.
