Organization of work of constructing an impervious loam blanket on the Volga-Uvod' canal
Conclusions The new technology of placing a loam blanket in inclined layers used on the Volga-Uvod' canal is marked by a minimum number of auxiliary operations and permits a simplification of the work of constructing the blanket.Placement of the soil by the fourth method at a high rate on small delivery areas without storing the soil makes it possible to construct blankets successfully during the winter in the middle belt of European USSR.The method should be tested on other canals under different climatic conditions. It is necessary to study thoroughly the organization of operations in this method by a time-study and determination of the expediency of using it for the various types of transportation and hauling distances, and the technology of placement with control of compaction and determination of limiting winter temperatures at which placement is possible.
