A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Conclusions Laboratory investigations of the action of surf and waves on a vertical wall have enabled this phenomenon to be defined more precisely from the viewpoints of kinematics and dynamics and, using as basis the concept of the impact of a liquid jet on a wall, for a quasistatic method to be proposed for detrmining wave pressures on a vertical wall. The test data cover a range of wave steepness h/λ from 0.05 to 0.10 and relative water depths $ H_{C} $/h ranging from 0.85 to 1.71.Presented in Table 3 is a summary of formulas whose limits of application are given by h<-$ H_{c} $<-$ H_{cr} $.
