Organization of heat supply for the construction of the Ust'-Ilimsk hydroelectric station
Conclusions The organization of a major hydraulic engineering construction work under severe climatic conditions requires the correct solution of the problems of heat supply and the establishment of sufficiently large sources of heat generation.The employment of electric electrode-type boilers permits the rapid establishment of heat sources of the necessary power rating and a considerable reduction in the labor input and capital outlay, compared with those required for fuel-type boiler houses.The employment of electric-type boiler houses considerably reduces the numbers of attendants, permits a sharp increase in the output per man-hour, completely eliminates heavy physical labor, and makes it possible to introduce automatic heat-production processes.Mobile electric boiler-house units with a steam-generating capacity of up to 3 tons/h can have an application in hydraulic engineering construction.In some circumstances (e.g., unavailability of a cheap fuel, difficult transport connection, etc.), electric-type boiler houses become economically justified even with power supplies supplied at significant tariffs. Their employment as temporary units for the duration of the construction period is also advantageous.The construction of major hydraulic engineering structures presupposes the establishment of a sufficiently powerful energy-supply system. This permits a certain portion of the power supply to be set aside for temporary and mobile electric-type boiler houses being used for heat supply to items under construction. In several cases it is economically justifiable to establish special power supply systems to cover the loadings imposed by electric-type boiler houses.
