Ultrasonic determination of strength and deformability of concrete
Conclusion Ultrasonic analysis of the quality of concrete in members and structures is a reliable and expeditious method for overall control of concrete in hydraulic and hydropower construction. The investigations indicate that when concrete is tested by the ultrasonic method, it is possible to determine, with a sufficiently high accuracy for practical engineering purposes (±10–15%), the compressive and tensile strengths, the modulus of elasticity, and the critical extensibility of the concrete directly in the components and structures. The analysis of the strength and deformability of concrete during construction will improve the concrete placing work and its quality.
