Electrometric quality control of concrete compaction in hydraulic construction
Conclusions The electrometric method of checking the quality of compaction is rather reliable, simple, and operative.By means of electrodes placed in the concrete mix it is possible to check the relative density of the mix in the zone adjacent to the electrodes, up to 6 cm.The scatter of the electrometric measurement readings in a homogeneous medium is characterized by a coefficient of variation $ C_{v} $=3% and maximum deviation from the average (control) values of 4–5%. For uniformly compacted concrete these values are, respectively, 10–15 and 20%.On the basis of this the value of electric resistance or current in the mix, which should not deviate from the control value by more than 20%, can serve as the criterion of relative density. The coefficient of variation, which for uniform concrete lies within 10–15%, serves as the criterion for uniformity of compaction.
