Investigations of soil compaction in hydraulic fill dams
Conclusions Investigations of hydraulically filled sand after compaction by means of tamping showed a considerably increase in its density, and strength, which proves the prospects of using compacting equipment when constructing hydraulic fill dams under special conditions, for example, in seismic regions.Problems of the technology of performing work on compaction of hydraulically filled sands and the selection of the compacting should be made the subject of special investigations at specific sites.
