A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
A new method is presented for the compression testing of soils in a stress-relaxation regime; the method is based on stepwise forced deformation of a specimen with its subsequent relaxation. An alternate scheme of the method with forced stress release during relaxation is examined. It is demonstrated that use of the method appreciably shortens the overall duration of geologic engineering surveys.
