Compressive strength of concrete elements with variable dimensions
Abstract A semi=empirical method of evaluating the compressive strength of concrete elements that are under axial compression and have variable dimensions is suggested. In this method, the bearing strength of the elements is related to the longitudinal average stress gradient in the zone of failure. The results given by the method are shown to correlate well with test results.
