Natural remanent magnetization of Portland cement paste and mortar
Abstract The presence of magnetic constituents in Porland cement-based materials permits acquisition of a weak magnetization of such materials under the influence of earth's magnetic field. This magnetization is caused by the alignment of individual magnetic grains during the casting process and can be measured readily using paleomagnetic techniques.
