A laboratory device for restrained shrinkage fracture of soil-cement mixtures
Abstract A procedure of shrinkage fracture testing for soil-cement mixtures made using a new laboratory test device is described. The strain energy release rates for some soil-cements are obtained from the experimental data. The creep behaviour of soil-cement mixtures under the restrained shrinkage test conditions are compared with that under a constant compressive load. Characteristics of shrinkage cracking of soil-cement mixtures can be explained from the viewpoint of the strain energy release rates obtained by use, of the device.
