Elements of poro-micromechanics applied to concrete
Abstract Linear elastic behavior of fluid saturated cement-based materials is first considered within a micromechanical framework. The damaging effect of saturated cracks is then examined for parallel cracks and for an isotropic distribution of the crack orientations. The principle of a theory of crack growth in saturated condition is also presented. The unsaturated conditions are briefly discussed. At last, these results are applied to the chemomechanical couplings induced by alkali-silica reaction in concrete.
