Pendulum observations at Ottawa, Gander, Teddington, Paris, Rome and Bad Harzburg
Abstract During the summer of 1959 the bronze bi-pendulum apparatus of the Dominion Observatory was used to determine gravity differences by occupying stations at Ottawa, Gander, Ottawa, Teddington, Bad Harzburg, Rome, Paris, Teddington and Ottawa sequentially. Observed periods, gravity differences and standard deviations are listed. A least squares adjustment of all recent Europe-North America connections has been carried out. From this adjustment the following provisional gravity values on the Potsdam system have been computed : Analysis of the data indicates that the errors in this values relative to each other and to Potsdam do not exceed 0.5 milligal.
