A comparison of existing schemes for the engineering description and classification of weathered rocks in Hong Kong
Abstract Existing indices suggested by The Geological Society Engineering Group Working Party, The International Society of Rock Mechanics, The British Standards Institution and The International Association of Engineering Geology for the description of rock material and structure have been compared, and a combination of these, and other published indices recommended for the description of weathered rocks in Hong Kong. Several existing classification systems have been reviewed, and the use of a site-specific system is recommended.
