Influence of Polypropylene Fiber on Properties of Biocemented Calcareous Sand
The crack resistance and brittle failure of soil can be improved by polypropylene fiber addition. In this study, polypropylene fiber was added to sand during the microbially induced carbonate precipitation (MICP) process. The polypropylene fiber length and content were chosen as research variables, and the effects of fiber length and content on the strength and brittle failure of MICP-treated sand were analyzed from a macroscopic perspective by using an unconfined compressive strength test, a split test, and a related physical experiment at the microcosmic scale through scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectroscopy experiments.
