Community development: building on contradiction
This paper seeks to help enhance community development programmes by providing a dialogical-activity theoretical framework to analyse stakeholder interpretations and actions in a community development context, using a case study of an intervention involving a mining company and a local community in Central Africa. It argues that such framework enables simultaneous insight into the development process and impetus for change.
